The wired internet was used in the earlier times but it is the age of getting rid of wires and using the technology of transmitting the internet through radio signals without using wires. This type of internet connection is called fixed wireless broadband and it is an ideal option for getting internet access in remote, rural, and interior areas where the wired connection cannot reach. The speed of the internet is very fast that allows an effortless downloading and uploading quickly. Such broadband is available for use at homes and business locations.

The fixed wireless helps in using the internet in locations where there is no access to fiber optic cable. Data caps are not forced in the internet connection. However, it is more expensive to install the wireless broadband rather than using a DSL technology. The signals in the wireless internet are transmitted through a transmission tower that sends the internet signals to the user’s location or home. Thus, wires and cables are not used for signal transmission and it is more convenient to install and use such internet connection. The responsibility of running and maintaining the transmission towers lays in the hands of the internet providers who give the broadband connection to individuals.

The users need to install the necessary equipment at their location for receiving the signals of the internet transmitted by the towers. Dish or antenna is used for this purpose. The equipment is attached to radio transmitters that catch the signals from the towers.

The fixed wireless broadband has some limitations too. The service can be blocked by trees and other things that come in the way. The service cannot be used for roaming.
